Committing My Life to Jesus

An adult ESL student at Pui Tak Center accepted God as his personal savior and was baptized in early August, 2020. This is his testimony.

I came to the U.S. in December 2019 to visit relatives. It was difficult to live here because of the language barrier, so I set out one day, determined to find a place to learn English. Without a GPS at hand, I found my way to Chinatown and saw the flyers about Pui Tak Center programs. I joined an outreach English class where I heard the Gospel for the first time.

I used to be a typical atheist. I paid great attention to the gains and losses in life and lived my life pursuing fame, wealth and money. This lifestyle was very tiring, and there was a constant niggling doubt at the back of my head, wondering if this was all life had to offer. Yet busy-ness kept me from seeking out the purpose and meaning of life.

During my time in the U.S., I had more time to explore these questions and was able to gain access to the Bible through my Christian family members. Through Pui Tak’s free outreach Bible classes, I got to learn more about Jesus. The witness of Pui Tak teachers and church brothers and sisters touched me and made known to me the love of Jesus.

After committing my life to Christ, my life transformed! I read the Bible, prayed and studied the Word of God every day, and often participated in different Bible studies. I no longer pursued fame and wealth because I understood that I was a servant of God and must follow His lead. Now I spend my days loving God and loving others.

All glory be to God!

This student has since returned to his home country. His name and photo has been removed to protect his identity.
