What is mindfulness?

When you think of mindfulness, do you immediately associate it with practices like meditation, yoga, or Eastern religious disciplines? While these historically include aspects of mindfulness, they do not define how current practices can be utilized.

Mindfulness is becoming fully aware of what is happening to you in the moment through being present, paying attention with purpose, and without judgment.

Practicing mindfulness helps you experience self-awareness and acceptance. In the past decades, a large body of research has shown treatments with mindfulness are effective in addressing various clinical disorders. Studies have pointed to mindfulness practices that produce neurological and mental health benefits, including reduction in depressive symptoms, anxiety, stress.

4-session series on managing stress through mindfulness practices.

For one hour every Thursday afternoon in May, we will meet to practice mindfulness together.

Our aim is to learn about mindfulness, share about our struggles and stress, and practice and experience mindfulness together. If this is your first time, it is a wonderful opportunity to try out a tool that you can incorporate in your regular life for stress management.

Seats are limited. Register here.
