Pui Tak Christian School

In 1953, the Chinese Christian Union Church decided to offer preschool classes since there were many children from immigrant families who weren’t prepared to start elementary school because they primarily spoke Chinese at home. In 2000, the school decided to expand to elementary school grades and began offering kindergarten classes.

During the 2004-2007 school year, the school is offering classes from preschool through the sixth grade. This year, we have 105 children enrolled in the school.

Some of the special events during this school year have been:

  • Apple picking at County Line Orchard in Indiana
  • Visit from Chinese acrobats and clowns from the Ringling
    Bros. & Barnum and Bailly Circus
  • Parent programs held in November, December and February.

    The school meets at the Chinese Christian Union Church
    (2301 S. Wentworth in Chicago).
